PHOTOGRAPHER’S PROFILE
Hello and Welcome.
I’m Simon, Senior Photographer here at Pro Vision Photography Ltd.
A Brief History & Profile
I founded the company in 2004, after 8 years employed as a commercial photographer and 7 full-time years as understudy and studying the profession. This wealth of experience has grounded and enabled me to establish and progress a well-reputed business in the industry, which has since thrived and expanded.
Pro Vision Photography is now a small team of commercial corporate photographers covering mainland UK. Many of our assignments are in London, Birmingham and Manchester.
The business enjoys a healthy blend of commercial and corporate event assignments. We photograph innumerable commercial assignments in industries such as engineering, manufacturing, aerospace, healthcare, environment and agriculture. Corporate event assignments include photographing exhibitions, conferences and various other corporate events for many of the UK's leading event organisers at venues such as The NEC Birmingham, Excel London, Olympia London and Manchester Central.
We enjoy the variety of these assignments, which helps greatly with creativity and we are always flexible in the way we work helping meet the needs of changing circumstances.
We use the latest technology and all the best equipment from Nikon and Canon, including the latest Nikon D5, D4s, D850 and Z6 camera systems. The highest quality lenses, professional lighting and various other professional photographic gear is utilised as necessary for each assignment.
Photography for me began as a hobby whilst a teenager. Locations included Gas Street Basin in Birmingham, not too long before the ICC Symphony Hall was built. I would cycle or catch the bus with my Practica MTL camera hidden inside my coat, capturing candid black and white photojournalistic images of the homeless and other characters rested on benches, or lying on the grass outside St. Phillips Cathedral. The challenge helped build me for a newly found life of adventure in image creativity.
Towards the end of my apprenticeship in photography, I had a stint for a few months as an expedition photographer in southern Chile, which rates as one of the most enjoyable assignment experiences and memories of my life.
I couldn’t possibly name all the wonderful assignments I’ve had the pleasure to photograph and be involved in, but some that come to mind include the Prime Minister in his private office, various celebrities, a Christian conference on The Mount of Olives in Jerusalem. Hundreds of trade exhibitions, conferences and corporate events… and all mostly hosted within some of the grandest venues in the British Isles and various other international assignments throughout Europe.
Today, I love to go on holiday with my wife, daughter, three boys and… two dogs! When the boys and I play football together it often reminds me of the days when all I ever did was kick a ball in the park with my brother and our football crazy mates. Twenty-a-side football games through the evening until the light was just about all gone. My dad and a few other old-timers included at times! You don't see that nowadays. I was always running, rarely would I sit still. What wonderful memories!
Enough of me! Feel free to meander through the portfolios here and hopefully you'll enjoy what you see, and when you need me or any one of my colleagues... we’re only a shutter click away! Thanks for looking.
Enjoy Your Journey Too.
Simon Jones.
